The Workshop will be held at the Grenada Trade Center and will bring together Procurement Specialists, Accountants, Financial Specialists and Project Managers working on Bank-financed projects in the Caribbean. Officials from the Audit and Treasury Departments will also attend.
The Workshop will be an intensive hands-on workshop covering Project Financial Management, Disbursements and Procurement aspects for World Bank-financed projects. It will utlilise case studies, and/or real world examples drawn from the Bank-financed operations in the region.
Over fifty persons are expected to attend including 35 overseas participants and 15 local officials.
The expected benefits of the Workshop are: (i) improved project implementation; (ii) better fiduciary risk management; and (iii) creation of a forum for exchanging ideas, and seeking solutions for development challenges of Bank-financed projects.
A short opening session will be held at the Grenada Trade Center on Monday June 4th, 2012, at 8:30 am. All members of the media are invited.
