The inflation rate in Grenada, for the month of September 2009, increased by 0.10% largely due to an increase of 2.28% in the price of fuel and light.
The Inflation Rate for September 2009 is 2.45%. This is a sharp reduction compared to September 2008 when it was 8.15%.
Government reemphasises its’ commitment to do all in its power to combat the cost of living, especially as it relates to food prices.
To date, its initiatives include:
- Removal of the National Reconstruction Levy (NRL);
- The Textbooks Programme; and
- The Duty Free Barrels Initiative.
