Spice Dream Holiday Apartment, an eleven (11) unit tourist accommodation facility which is located in L’Ance Aux Epines, St. George’s was officially opened on Sunday October 25th 2009. Each unit within the complex is self contained and exquisitely designed to attract the target market of tourist, business executives and university professors. The facility also contains a swimming pool, bar and entertainment centre.
Present at the opening were Minister for Tourism Honorable Glynis Roberts and other representatives from the Grenada Board of Tourism. In addressing the gathering, the minister congratulated the sponsor; Mr. Christopher Whint on his initiative and reiterated government commitment to further develop the sector and increasing the island room stock. She also called on other local entrepreneurs to follow the step of Mr. Whint and invest within the local economy.
The project started construction in January 2006 and was completed in September 2009. During the construction phase an average of twenty (20) persons were employed. The total investment into the facility was EC$4.9 million and was financed through the sponsor’s equity and loan from the Grenada Public Service Cooperative Credit Union.
A total of Six (6) persons are expected to be employed in the operation of the facility.
