The Government of Grenada has identified the establishment of a Teaching Hospital as a major project under the transformational sector of Heath, Education and Wellness Services. Both the Government of Grenada and St. George’s University agree to pursue the goal of developing a Teaching Hospital in their new agreement signed in December 2010. To this end, the Government has engaged the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank, to provide advisory services on a public private partnership for the establishment of the teaching hospital.
An IFC team (with consultants) will be in Grenada from October 31st to November 4th, 2011, to commence this assignment. The team will include a legal, financial and communications consultants who will be working with the Government of Grenada and the St. George’s University (SGU) over the next eighteen (18) months, to develop and deliver the partnership.
While in Grenada, the team will meet with key officials and stakeholders, including the Prime Minister, Government Ministers and Senior Officials of the Ministries of Finance and Health; St. George’s University; Her Majesty’s Opposition; the business community; the Medical, Junior Doctors, Pharmacists and Nurses Associations; the Unions and the Media.
